Background Lokring is a global manufacturer of tube fittings and connection technologies, serving the federal market with applications including U.S. Navy ships. The company operates under CMMC2 compliance requirements, which mandate fully on-premise deployment for systems handling controlled unclassified information. Lokring engineers currently rely on a legacy lookup tool, internally referred to as “LOKAD,” to retrieve engineering drawings, engineering change request notices (ECRNs), and specification documents. The existing application runs on a Windows Server 2008 R2 host that has been targeted for retirement. Document storage is coupled directly to the application server’s file system, and the engineer workflow for adding new document revisions is fragmented across multiple manual steps. Proper Access has engaged Moreland as a subcontractor to design and build a modern replacement application that will be deployed onto a dedicated virtual machine on Lokring’s new Dell 7515 server fleet. Proper Access will manage the end-client relationship with Lokring, including all infrastructure provisioning, network configuration, and direct billing.
